About the job

Stockholm's Transport and Vehicle Technical High School, STFG, is seeking a vocational teacher for our adapted high school, and we need to find you who want to help educate our youth on their way to adulthood.

The Vehicle Care and Goods Handling program is a vocational program where youth with intellectual disabilities can apply. The goal is for students to gain knowledge for work in areas such as vehicle care, warehousing, and goods handling. We are looking for someone with pedagogical experience in adapted high school and a passionate interest in students, cars, small machines, engines, and bicycles.

Our students have mild intellectual disabilities and often also have NPF diagnoses (e.g., ADHD, autism). It is important that you have the ability to work with students with different needs.

The role requires close collaboration with colleagues and supervisors at APL placements. You need to have the ability to find creative solutions to meet the students' various needs. The position includes mentorship, which means you need to be comfortable communicating with guardians and networks around the students.

Job Responsibilities

As a vocational teacher in STFG's adapted program, you will teach within the program's vocational courses - both theoretically and practically. Responsibilities include mentorship, planning and conducting lessons, and participating in the follow-up of students' workplace-based learning (APL). You will be part of a team with several other colleagues who work together to support the students' development.

The work also involves managing basic documentation, attendance reporting, and communication using a computer.

Qualifications

It is a requirement that you are a qualified vehicle teacher and can demonstrate experience in education within vehicle service and preferably truck/goods handling. You also need to have a good ability to work independently as well as collaborate with colleagues and the industry. We want you to have experience working with youth who belong to the target group of adapted high school. To thrive in the job, it is important that you are interested in people and understand the students' different conditions and needs. We value flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, quickly changing perspectives, and seeing opportunities in changes.
